I really wanted to go to this place really really bad. I love maccha 🍵 and I love buckwheat noodle— this place has maccha buckwheat noodle!!! They also have amazing warabi mochi💜 and good maccha tea to go with it.
The place is old Japanese house and has no AC—FYI it didn’t bother me though. We went there on Tuesday so it was just us and three other small groups. I heard they have waiting list on weekends.
Bathroom: I was expecting a hole in outhouse but no. It was outhouse but equipped with washlet!!
If you want to see old Japanese architecture experience this is it!!!
This is a soba restaurant and cafe with beautiful autumn leaves and a great atmosphere.
The tea soba and freshly made warabi mochi are delicious.
Freshly made warabi mochi is slightly warm and chewy.
During my trip, I sat at a hidden cafe in a cozy cafe, watching the autumn leaves outside, sitting around the hearth in the tatami room, and taking a break with soybean powdered sugar warabi mochi and warm matcha...it was a very quaint place.
There is also a stream running next to the parking lot.
A detached house that stands alone along the road leading from Mita city to mother and child. The building with its eye-catching thatched roof has the best atmosphere. The parking lot is wide and easy to park. This road is a pass road that may be regulated in winter. However, there are many broadleaf trees in the mountains near the virgin forest, and the fresh green and autumn leaves are wonderful.
The atmosphere is extremely good thanks to the location. I got a set of warabi mochi and it was very reasonable and delicious. Repeat.
It's a very nice place.
I ate cha soba and warabi mochi with my elementary and junior high school children. It was very delicious.
My daughter said that the rice balls were very delicious😋 and ate them happily.
Landscapes and buildings are also a great experience for children these days.
The air was very sweet.
The restaurant is a renovated old folk house with a thatched roof, and the grounds and parking lot are spacious, and there are tables in the garden, so you can eat and drink outside. (There is also free Wifi in the store)
There are cherry blossom trees and autumn leaves trees, so in spring and autumn we recommend eating and drinking outside to enjoy the season.
The main dishes are tea soba and warabi mochi.
The tea soba noodles are served on a plate with condiments and hot spring eggs, and the soup is poured directly over the top, but the soup feels a little thin, probably because it doesn't remove the flavor of the tea soba noodles.
The condiments are green onion, daikon radish, shiso leaves, and wasabi, but since I don't like shiso, I think it would have been better if they had put the condiments on a separate plate so I could add them to my taste. and…
So, there are probably hygiene and cost issues with wasabi, but since it is a good tea soba, I think it will taste better and look better if you use grated wasabi instead of kneaded wasabi in a nylon pack.
Personally, I think it's better to eat tea soba noodles with soup, like zaru soba, because the soba drains better in the sieve, and the soup doesn't get diluted, making it more delicious.
Warabi mochi is delicious. It comes in one large bowl, and is eaten by cutting it into pieces with chopsticks and sprinkling it in soybean flour.
On Sundays and public holidays, there is a wait time of over 30 minutes outside and a wait of over 15 minutes after ordering inside.
You can enjoy a leisurely meal in the midst of nature.
It was a little cool even in midsummer, probably because it was on top of a mountain. The soba is chewy and delicious, and it comes with warabi mochi and rice balls, making it a great value🍙
Old folk house shop
I ordered tea soba.
I thought it was zaru soba, but it's more like bukkake soba.
tastes normal.
Warabimochi is delicious, but I wish it had toothpicks! I tought.
I was able to use PayPay for payment.
I think it's easy to get to because the parking lot is spacious.
I went there with my cycling friends.
This shop is located on the central route to Eisakuji Temple.
I received the soba set.
Comes with rice balls, tea soba, and warabi mochi.
It was delicious and I want to go again.
The exterior of the store is nice, with a thatched roof and surrounded by greenery, giving a relaxing atmosphere.
Even inside the store, it feels like you're in the countryside.
If you're tired of walking around town, you should definitely go.
